How it Works

The Museum of Exploration is thrilled to partner with Big Bus to offer our visitors a convenient, complimentary shuttle service directly to the museum!

Service Details

  • Operating Dates: July 2 – September 1 (Please note: The shuttle will not operate on July 4).
  • The Route: The shuttle runs in a continuous loop from the Washington Monument to the Georgetown Waterfront (stops outside of the AMC Georgetown), stopping at the Museum of Exploration to drop off and pick up visitors. The full loop takes approximately one hour.
  • Schedule: The museum shuttle runs 6 times daily. Check this page for schedule updates, or sign up for email updates to get the latest news from the MOE.
  • Hop On Quickly: The bus will stop for 2–3 minutes at each location for boarding. Seating is limited to 64 passengers per trip on a first-come, first-served basis.

Important Ride Information

  • Ticket Holders Only: Access is exclusive to Museum of Exploration ticket holders. Have your ticket ready for the driver.
  • Restrictions: This service covers only the Nat Geo–Georgetown loop; it does not include standard commercial D.C. Big Bus tours.
