Introduction
Eligibility
NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.
This sweepstakes is open only to legal residents of the District of Columbia, Virginia, or Maryland who are at least 18 years old at the time of entry. Entries are limited to individuals only; commercial enterprises and business entities are not eligible. Employees or contract employees of sponsor, National Geographic Society (the “Sponsor”), its affiliates, subsidiaries, agents, and advertising and promotional agencies, and their immediate families or persons living in the same household of such individuals, are ineligible. SWEEPSTAKES IS VOID IN ANY JURISDICTIONS OTHER THAN THOSE IDENTIFIED ABOVE, OR WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW.

The sweepstakes begins on June 26, 2026 and ends on July 5, 2026 (“Posting Window”).
How to Participate
How to Enter
To enter, visit one of the Yellow Border locations around Washington, DC. Capture a photo or video and post it publicly to your Instagram or TikTok account tagging @natgeomuseum and using #NatGeoSweepstakes. Social profile and posts must be public to enter. Sponsor is not responsible for any entries that fail to post publicly to social media platforms due to connectivity issues, platform defects, or user error. Entries are void if they are incomplete, do not include the required hashtags in exactly the form above, produced in error, or obtained through fraud or theft. By entering you agree to be bound by these Official Rules.
Prizes & Winner Selection
Prizes
Five (5) winners will each win a pair of tickets to the museum. Prize winners will be selected from entries properly posted during the Posting Window and remaining public as of July 7, 2026. The Prizes consist of two tickets to the National Geographic Museum of Exploration. Approximate Retail Value ("ARV") is $60.00. No prize transfer, assignment or substitution by winner permitted. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute prize in which case a prize of equal or greater value will be awarded.
Random Selection of Winner
Random selection of the winner will occur on or about July 7, 2026 from among all eligible entries received. The Grand Prize winner will be notified by message on the social media platform to which they posted on or about July 7, 2026. Limit one prize per person, family or household. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
Redemption and Verification
To redeem the prize, winner must reply to @natgeomuseum within ten (10) days of prize notification. All prize claims are subject to verification and compliance with these Official Rules and applicable legal requirements. Winners will be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility/liability release before award of any prize. All federal, state and local taxes, fees and surcharges on prizes are the sole responsibility of the Winners. If a winner declines the prize or is unavailable for prize fulfillment, an alternate winner will be selected at random from all remaining eligible entries.
Limitation on Liability
Sponsor assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, or delay in operation or transmission; communications line failure; theft or destruction of or unauthorized access to sweepstakes entries; or alteration of entries. And Sponsor is not responsible for any problems with or technical malfunction of any mobile networks, WiFi connections, online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any attempted entry to be received on account of technical problems or internet traffic congestion, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participants’ or any other persons’ computers related to or resulting from participation in this sweepstakes.
Right to Cancel or Suspend Sweepstakes
If for any reason the sweepstakes, including the online segment of the sweepstakes, is not capable of running as planned, due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of Sponsor that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this sweepstakes, the Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual(s) who tamper with the entry process, and/or to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the sweepstakes.
CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY ANY PERSON TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS. SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
Conditions of Participation
By participating, participants agree to release, discharge, and hold harmless Sponsor and its partners, affiliates, parents, subsidiaries, advertising agencies, agents and their employees, officers, directors, and representatives from any liability, claims, losses, and damages arising out of their participation in the sweepstakes or any sweepstakes-related activities and the acceptance, use, misuse, or possession of any prize received in this sweepstakes. Participants also agree (a) to be bound by these Official Rules; (b) that the decisions of Sponsor are final on all matters relating to the sweepstakes. The Sweepstakes is governed by the laws of the United States with venue in Washington, D.C., and all claims must be resolved under District of Columbia law without regard to choice of law rules, first by mediation, and then by arbitration, in the District of Columbia, under the rules of the American Arbitration Association. Sponsor reserves the right to use any and all information related to the sweepstakes, including information on entrants obtained through the sweepstakes, for internal marketing purposes unless prohibited by law.
