Our latest Exhibition Showcase is a unique way to commemorate America250 in the heart of Washington, D.C.
Join us for a celebration of "Red, White & Blue," our premier exhibition, where you'll hear from featured National Geographic Explorers and photographers as they share the stories behind the photographs. Then, enjoy the world premiere performance of a commissioned piece of music inspired by the exhibition.

The evening will begin with a cocktail reception in Explorers Eatery alongside talks from featured Explorers and photographers Jason Gulley, Erika Larsen, Katie Orlinsky, and Amy Toensing. Next, enter our Spotlight Gallery for an exclusive private viewing of “Red, White & Blue.” The event will culminate with the world premiere of a commissioned live music performance by DC-area composer Sam Post inspired by the exhibition, offering time to enjoy the work in a unique way.
The celebration ends with free access to the Courtyard Nighttime Experience.
This program is part of our ongoing A250 series in partnership with the America250 commission, exploring the people, places and stories that have shaped the United States in the 250 years since the founding of the nation.

Yes, there will be a coat check to store your coat and other belongings available upon entering the museum.
For those bringing bags or purses to the event, please be mindful of our bag policy:
Bags must be under 16” x 16” x 8” to be permitted into the museum. No large bags or luggage are permitted. All bags are subject to search and seizures.
Each ticket includes welcome drinks and light bites during the reception, access to Explorer talks, a private gallery viewing and the world premiere of a live National Geographic commissioned performance.
Your ticket also includes admission to that evening’s Courtyard Nighttime Experience with no additional reservation required.
This ticket does not include access to explore the rest of the museum.
Check in begins 30 minutes before the event outside of Explorers Eatery, with the program beginning promptly at 6 p.m. Seating is general admission.
The Museum of Exploration will be hosting an ongoing A250 programming series honoring our country’s living icons — species, landscapes and communities that are a part of the American experience, including Book Talks, From The Archives screenings, pop-up activations with National Geographic Explorers and more.
