Celebrate opening weekend with a global evening market inspired by night markets, street festivals, and bazaars around the world.

For one night only, the Museum of Exploration comes alive after hours with international street food, drinks, music, live performances, and pop-up experiences across the courtyard and Explorers Eatery. Gather with friends, explore flavors from around the world, enjoy global music under the lights, and experience the museum in a whole new way.

The evening will feature food trucks and vendor stalls, outdoor bars, live music, DJ sets, and special programming inside Explorers Eatery, including a “Meet a National Geographic Photographer” conversation with visual storytelling from photographers whose work spans the globe.

Enjoy a rotating selection of international street food and beverages, inspired by the flavors and cultures of DC and the wider world.

Live music and DJs

The courtyard becomes the heart of the evening with upbeat global sounds, live performance, and music that builds from sunset into a festive night atmosphere.

Meet a National Geographic Photographer

Step inside Explorers Eatery for a short visual storytelling program featuring National Geographic photographers sharing the stories behind their work.

Pop-up experiences

Discover hands-on moments, creative activations, and special retail opportunities throughout the evening.

Wonders of our World

Take in the Museum of Exploration’s illuminated courtyard and enjoy a one-night-only opening weekend celebration designed for gathering, discovery, and connection.
